Why Dankwood and Who Am I

Hey there, I'm Josh, the craftsman behind Dankwood Designs. With 12 years in carpentry, I've cultivated a deep passion for creating one-of-a-kind pieces that break the mold. When I'm not in the workshop, you'll find me at Jordan River, recharging alongside my loyal companion, Aizen.

I have this thing for "limited runs" – current fixations where each item is a unique expression. Repetition isn't my style; I want every piece to be special, mirroring the uniqueness of my Vancouver Island home.

Vancouver Island inspires the peaceful approach I bring to projects, whether it's a small dog bed or a complete ensuite renovation. The drive to keep creating special items with my approach is what fuels my passion. We'll plan meticulously and execute with a distinctive touch. Communication with clients is laid-back, but when the work begins, it's all about extreme focus – treating your project as if it were my own.
